Product Introduction
Thermoset E-glass Chopped Strands are reinforcements designed for use in thermoset resin systems. These chopped strands are designed to improve tensile and flexural modulus and impact, thus ensuring better dimensional stability at high temperatures. The chopped strands are cut to various lengths that are determined by the specific applications. They are designed to process with minimal fuzz and to provide rapid wet-out in the thermoset resin system. These products are used in end-use markets such as electric/electronic, transportation, and consumer.

Product Description
Thermoset Chopped Strands are manufactured from a collection of continuous glass filaments gathered into a single bundle. Higher performance chemistry is applied to optimize glass/matrix adhesion and provide excellent bundle integrity. The fiberbundles are then chopped into specific lengths, dried, screened, trace metals removed and packaged in reusable bags to meet your end-use requirements. The product is optimized to meet your cost and performance needs. The product is designed to be used in compression molded parts and injection molded parts.

Low fuzz and fine levels	Low fuzz levels with Thermoset Chopped Strands significantly diminish the formation of unwetted fuzz clumps, which can cause weak areas in the molded laminate. In addition, low levels of fines reduce fuzz and fly while the product is being discharged from its packaging containers. This provides more consistent feeding.
Low solubility	The low solubility of M5-A Chopped Strands in unsaturated polyester helps maintain bundle integrity which can enhance mechanical properties. M5-A Chopped Strands are especially good in impact strength.
Good mold flowability	Thermoset Chopped Strands flow readily within the homogenous compound. Scrap rates are reduced because voids, caused by poor fiber flow, are eliminated. Improved flow allows for the use of longer fiber length to achieve higher mechanical properties.
