Product: Spray Up Roving
printable .pdf version
Product Introduction
G1-A E-glass gun roving is designed for use in spray-up operations using standard or filled resin systems. This includes applications in tub/showers, septic tanks, heavy trucks and utility boxes. Roving doffs are square-edged, cylindrical packages which are firmly and evenly wound and have a constant traverse length. The packages are designed to provide a smooth run out, and their geometry is controlled to maintain the desired run out performance.
Product Description
All G1-A gun roving is manufactured to meet ISO 9001 standards. Besides, these products have obtained the quality certification of Norway Boat code. G1-A gun roving is produced from a collection of continuous glass filaments gathered, without mechanical twisting, into a single bundle. The filaments, which make up the bundles, are bonded together with a special size. Multiple bundles are then pulled together to form a strand. The strand is wound into a tubeless package that is ready for use in customer applications.

Doffs are wrapped in plastic bags, then packed in individual cardboard boxes or bulk packed. All pallets have ends that are spliced together. One-, two-, four-end run-outs are available depending on specific customer
requirements.
Storage
Unless otherwise specified, it is recommended to store glass fiber products in a cool, dry area. Temperature should not exceed 35°°C (95°F) and the relative humidity should be kept below 75%. Glass roving products must remain in packaging material until just prior to their use. If these conditions are respected, the glass fiber product should not undergo significant changes when stored for extended periods of time.
Stacking
To ensure safety and avoid damage to the product, skids should not be stacked more than two high

Customer Benefits |
|
| Optimum dispersion and low static |
G1-A gun roving requires minimum force for cutting strands cleanly, resulting in even, flat dispersion characteristics that help eliminate clumping. Low static ensures maximum gun operator comfort and safety in the workplace. |
|
| Excellent glass lay down |
G1-A gun roving is designed to spray onto a mold with minimal fluffing and virtually no hay-stacking. This good lay down characteristic makes it easier for gun operators to estimate laminate thickness while spraying a part. Better lay-down reduces time for roll out as well. |
|
| Fast wetting properties |
Fast wetting should allow you to make more parts in the same amount of time, increasing
productivity and enhancing your competitive position in the market place. In addition, less pre-wetting and less post wetting are needed, resulting in less sliding of the matrix when sprayed on vertical surface. Faster wet through and wet out may allow for a slightly higher glass content, potentially reducing resin costs. |
|
| Superior air release |
The combination of G1-A chemistry and optimum strand geometry results in a product that releases air very easily, improving laminate quality and reducing part fabrication time. The fast air release properties make G1-A an excellent Gun Roving for filled resin systems. |
